Here’s a significant list of FAQ answers to help you with your planning to attend our wedding
No. All guests will be provided with two tickets. The first guarantees you access to the festival itself, the second will provide access to the reception area.
Are guests expected to dress in costume?
No, though we wouldn’t mind if you did😛
If you do wish to dress in period costuming, a few places you can go to rent costumes are listed below:
At this point it would be nearly impossible to get a custom made costume finished in time. There is also a costume rental ON the grounds of the Renaissance Festival itself. They charge anywhere between $25 and $60 depending on the finery of the costume to rent for the day. We strongly recommend arriving at the rental store no later than 10:00 a.m. but you should try and get there when they open at 9:30 a.m. to ensure the greatest selection.
What is the recommended attire for the ceremony?
Due to the wedding being an outdoor event, and much of the fun for you will be the ability to participate in various festival activities, we strongly recommend casual attire. Remember, it will be warm, and the paths are more dirt than anything else. So dress appropriately for the conditions.
Sunscreen, hats and other precautions should also be considered.
Is food being provided?
Yes, we plan to stick to the standard menu provided by the festival (yes, that includes turkey legs)
There is no requirement to select your meal ahead of time, we will have enough of everything to ensure we don’t run out. It’s a feast after all!
Will alcoholic beverages be provided?
Blue Moon beer is our beverage of choice and will be offering that to our guests free of charge. However, the festival does provide a cash bar in addition if Blue Moon is not to your taste.
Where is the renaissance festival?
We will be providing all guests with very specific directions and maps. However, for the purposes of planning, The Festival grounds are located in Larkspur, Colorado, which is located between exits 172 and 173 on I-25, south of Denver.
You can expect the drive to take about 25-30 minutes.
IF you are a confirmed guest of the wedding and you believe you will not be able to get to the festival due to lack of transportation, let us know! We will have space to car pool a handful of people with us. However, out of town guests will receive priority for this.
What are the hours of the Colorado Renaissance Festival?
10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
As guests of the wedding, you are encouraged to arrive as close to the opening time as possible. We wouldn’t want you to miss the gate-opening ceremonies.
Is parking free?
Yes, the parking at the festival is free, and since you can be parked a ways from the entrance, they also provide free shuttle service.
